Our Mission
At Matrescence CIC, we believe mothers deserve more than survival — they deserve support, connection, safety, and compassionate care as they navigate one of life’s biggest transformations.
We are a not-for-profit community organisation dedicated to nurturing and empowering women through pregnancy, the postnatal period, breastfeeding, and motherhood by creating inclusive, community-led spaces where mothers feel seen, heard, and supported without judgement.
Based in Thanet, we recognise the unique challenges faced by families living in coastal communities affected by deprivation, inequality, isolation, and reduced access to support services. Many areas within Thanet experience significant health inequalities, child poverty, poorer maternal mental health outcomes, and barriers to accessing consistent support and care.
Matrescence CIC was created to help bridge those gaps.
Our mission is to improve maternal wellbeing and health equality by providing accessible support, education, community connection, and safe spaces for mothers and families — particularly those who may feel vulnerable, overlooked, or underserved.

As a not-for-profit organisation, donations help us continue providing low-cost and accessible support groups, community events, educational sessions, and resources to mothers across Thanet. Every contribution directly supports families within the local community.
Through connection, education, advocacy, and compassionate support, Matrescence aims to help mothers feel less alone and more empowered during every stage of motherhood.
